I am pleased to be able to post the official trailer for ‘The Numismatist’ due for online release this Halloween.
We had some additional things to complete including the shooting of a new scene which was delayed by the availability of cast, but now it’s all finished and the music for the trailer (link below) was completed in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A slice of dark synth pop, title influenced by the 1979 film of the same name, and also a hint of ‘Wait Until Dark’ starring Audrey Hepburn.
I wanted to convey a sense of unease, in true artistic terms the subject is open to interpretation, but maybe that mystery caller isn’t actually of this world!
Sadly I was inspired by the loss of so many famous and talented people last year, and felt compelled to write a song about it, first one of the year!
Even Superheroes Die!
So now that the party is over
There’s a lot of contemplation to do
Things that we’d cherished got broken
Emotions change from red to blue
Beliefs that we thought were forever
Were never really quite understood
Our understanding is much like the weather
We want to change it for the greater good
(Chorus)
No matter how hard I try
I can never fly,
the sky seems out of bounds to me
but I’m not alone for we are all flesh and bone
And even superheroes die
Those that live on high
Are never home and dry
It simply means they’ve further to fall
So I’ll breathe a sigh and then I’ll ask again why
That even superheroes die
Safe until the pedistal crumbled
Your Fame has kept the wolves at bay
The pie that you fed us was humble
And you lived to fight another day
So talented, pretty and charming
International supercool icon
The influence you had was alarming
How will we survive now you’re gone
Now you’ve disappeared from the silverscreen
And your music has faded to grey
But you’re here in our hearts for evermore
And nothing can take that away
You can now hear my music on Soundcloud and stream a playlist of my works, I’ll be adding more tracks from my back catalogue over time covering various genres, so there should be something to please everyone’s ears!
I deceided to add this additional listening option as although this website and blog acts as my central repository of audio work, it’s hosted by WordPress and on occasion some followers (indeed myself as well) have encountered issues accessing media from various browsers and devices.
I’m delighted to announce my latest collaboration with After Midnight Productions.
Following the success of The Tale of the Christmas Tree https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4mbncMsk60
we are producing a short soundscape style film based around a classic Lovecraft poem.
Director Andrew Loverage is putting together the suitably creepy visuals, whilst I have the honour of creating the narration and audio soundscape.
There is no precise scheduled release date at present but sooner rather than later is our goal.
There are other plans afoot for this year so keep coming back!
Well here’s a new track, not too sure why I called it ‘Prospero’s Waltz’ it’s not a Waltz and has little to do with Prospero but tracks have to have titles right?
Q uartz – This track is something a little different from the work I’ve been doing of late, although having said that there is still an underscore of cinematic influence going on.
So enjoy this track, it’s kind of a collision between ‘cafe del Mar’ eighties synth-pop and cinematic vibes!
I haven’t posted a new song for a while, so here is my latest, one or two events recently influenced me to write this one, so apologies in advance for the meloncholy!
